Delhi-bred Pallavi Seth is one of the first young opera singers to come out of the country.

Pallavi was in the ninth grade when she enrolled for a summer program in the USA. She went a blank canvas only to study voice and technique. Later she moved to New York for a formal undergraduate degree in Opera and Vocal Performance from the prestigious Mannes School of Music.

She studied opera and voice performance at Mannes School of Music in New York City — and Hindustani classical vocals under the legendary Banaras Gharana singer Late.Smt. Girija Devi ji. It is this blending of two cultures and versatility in sound that drives Pallavi. Most of the songs that are performed by her are completely improvised and there’s this lingering, operatic vibrato that you will hear in every track.

Performances at prestigious venues like the Lincoln Center in New York saw Seth transitioning from her passion for music to making it a profession. It was an explorer’s journey. Whether it was learning multiple languages or understanding different vocal techniques.
